5 Ways for Clean Markup and Custom Web Design

Web design is a very creative and important job that every web designer has. Companies need websites and websites require a great website design. A great website design is classified as ‘great’ by being so if it has a clean markup on the inside, but it must also have a great design on the outside. A web design should capture the meaning of a brand and display it on a web page. Read below the top 5 ways to have clean markup and a custom web design.

  • Newest Website Trends: Always following the new website trends will lead you to new achievements in design! New web trends are popular because they are new advancements in web design. A great example of a web trend/advancement is the mobile friendly web design rule. Website designers never acknowledged mobile devices in the previous years, but now, mobile devices are being used by millions of people. With this amount of mobile device use, a webpage must follow new trends in design to become mobile friendly! One way for a web page to become mobile friendly is to become responsive. Mobile devices have different screen sizes and a responsive website design will automatically resize the page layout for any device the web page may be opened on. With this said, this is why every web developer must never ignore the latest web trends that come out. Web design trends are made to better design and forward it into a further advanced future.
  • Minify your JavaScript Files: JavaScript is known for its lightweight code and great effects, but it is important not to overdo it with JavaScript. JavaScript has replaced flash because flash was too heavy and speed standards have changed on web pages; this is where JavaScript jumped in. However, the more JavaScript files added onto a website, the slower a website will load. Minify JavaScript files on a page and use only those that are necessary to be used in the web design.
  • Minify your CSS Script: One of the rules of great web design is to produce a great design, but with little CSS code. So, if your CSS script is too long, there is a way to trim it down. Compressing a CSS file will reduce all the excess lines of codes and provide a cleaner script.
  • Add Custom Elements to DIV Tags. Add custom div named classes to all divided elements of a web page. This is a great way to customize your script.
  • W3C Markup Validation Service: After creating your wonderful website design, it is then time to test on and see if the code is clean. The W3C Markup Validation Service tests out a script markup and displayed all the errors that may be inside the script. It will highlight the error type, the line number that this error is one, and a quick solution to fix this error. The W3C Markup Validation service is a great tool to test your website and see if it has clean markup.
